After appearing in the Great American Trailer Park Musical as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, Carter Calvert's current project is the Forbidden Vegas at the The Westin Casuarina Hotel in Las Vegas.
Previously she was seen Off Broadway in The Thing About Men at the Promenade Theatre. Other New York credits include the Broadway, off- Broadway and touring productions of It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues in a role she originated. Ms. Calvert toured Europe in Smokey Joe's Cafe and appeared as the title role in Always, Patsy Cline. Regional credits: Denver Center Theatre Company, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Arena Stage, Cleveland Playhouse, Crossroads Theatre Company, New Victory Theatre, San Diego Repertory Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse at the Park, Theatre By The Sea (Rhode Island) and Theatre Under The Stars (Houston). Television credits include: The David Letterman Show, Rosie O'Donnell Show, and The Today Show. She has opened for Liza Minnelli, The Temptations, Chubby Checker and for Marilyn McCoo. In 1993, she was named Best Female Vocalist of the Year by Starsong Records and Downbeat Magazine named her Best Female Jazz Vocalist. Ms. Calvert's CD, Fever is available now. She is happily married to conductor/pianist Bill Stanley. |
